Standard and Quality Authority Return a Shipment of Substandard Batteries
In continuation of its rigorous efforts to protect domestic markets and safeguard consumer rights, the Standard and Quality Authority (ASQA) return a 25-ton shipment of batteries at Farah Port after comprehensive quality control and technical assessment revealed they did not meet national standards.
The shipment underwent a technical evaluation during the quality verification process and was denied entry into the country’s markets due to its failure to comply with the required standards.
The Standard and Quality Authority emphasizes that the process of quality verification and control for imported goods across all national ports continues transparently, systematically, and decisively.
There will be zero tolerance for the entry of substandard, non-compliant, or harmful products that jeopardize public health.
The Authority urges all traders and importers to pay serious attention to national standards before importing goods and to cooperate with this department in ensuring a healthy and high-quality market.
